All-Vision Open V8 powered by Next Generation Matrox DSX Platform (3/9/2004)

Multi-format nonlinear editing system exploits Matrox's "Power of X" architecture and the explosive performance of dedicated hardware to deliver cost-effective, high performance solution to broadcast facilities.

Matrox Video Products Group today announced that All-Vision, Inc. has adopted the Matrox DSX platform for its new OpenV8 multi-format nonlinear editing system. All-Vision's innovative Titan architecture allows OpenV8 to use the CPU + GPU to perform complex nonlinear editing in real time.

"All-Vision chose the Matrox DSX platform as the basis for OpenV8 because it's powerful and cost effective," said Xiao Zhang, chief engineer of All-Vision, "What's more, Matrox is our long time partner, we've already formed an excellent working relationship."

Key features of All-Vision OpenV8

· 4-layer video editing, each with a 3D effect
· High quality codecs enable mixed editing of DV25, DV50, MPEG-2 I-frame, MPEG-2 IBP (ES, PS, TS bitstreams), M-JPEG and non-compressed format video
· Optimal utilization of the CPU and GPU provides high quality effects and compositing of video and titles
· Flexible software architecture supports editing of more video layers and different video formats, such as H.264 and Windows Media 9, as systems become more powerful
