News XPRI gains more HD-friendly features as Sony ships 100th system (23/9/2004) With news that more than 100 XPRI systems have now been shipped to European customers, Sony confirms fast growing interest in XPRI among broadcast and post production communities while unveiling several new 'HD-friendly' capabilities for the long-form non linear editor. At IBC this year, Sony is inviting attendees to visit the XPRI Experience, a dedicated display area in the Post Production Hall. Away from the main Sony stand on Stand 7.929, Hall 7, visitors can see latest XPRI features capabilities being demonstrated that enhance the editor's appeal for long-form programme production. High Definition is becoming an increasingly central aspect of production workflows, and many new features supported in XPRI Version 7 reflect growing industry momentum towards HD production. Growing sales success With more than 100 systems now shipped in the past 6 months -- support for XPRI is gaining momentum from European broadcasters, post production facilities and rental operations.
