News Pinnacle Systems Delivers Pinnacle Liquid Version 6.1 for Broadcast (21/3/2005) Pinnacle Systems(R), Inc. (NASDAQ:PCLE) , a leader in digital video solutions, announced the availability of version 6.1 of its Pinnacle Liquid real-time standard definition (SD) and high definition (HD) video editing systems for broadcast environments. Liquid version 6.1 marks the first release of the significantly improved Liquid version 6 software in broadcast editing configurations. New capabilities include true multi-stream native high definition editing, format-independent real-time effects, integrated DVD authoring, advanced audio tools, multi-cam support and a redesigned user interface. With its unique integrated design, Liquid 6.1 delivers a frictionless broadcast workflow that allows video to flow unhindered by format conversion or time-consuming rendering steps -- enabling editors to focus on the creative process. Several Liquid configurations optimized for broadcast environments are now shipping as turnkey systems. A variety of analog and digital SD and HD I/O options are available including the new chrome HD option with support for uncompressed SD and HD through its SD/HD-SDI breakout box, as well as the blue option with multi-speed SDTI capture, background capture and DVCPRO50 support. "As with all of the video formats that Liquid supports, Liquid's native HD and native HDV editing support means broadcasters can eliminate the time-consuming and quality-deteriorating transcoding required by other systems," said Matt Danilowicz, vice president and general manager, Broadcast at Pinnacle Systems. "With Liquid version 6.1, broadcast customers can benefit from a frictionless workflow where multiple streams of video and powerful real-time capabilities yield more efficient results." Liquid version 6.1 provides broadcasters with: -- Full SD and HD support -- Liquid's SmartEDIT technology supports multiple
video formats, frame rates and resolutions simultaneously within a single
timeline, including native HDV, MPEG-2 IBP, MPEG-2 I-frame and uncompressed
editing, all with real-time capture and playback. Liquid includes full
support for Panasonic P2 and Sony XDCAM, as well as comprehensive control
for all shipping Sony HDV cameras, decks and devices. Liquid's real-time
preview allows users to see all formats, including HDV, directly on their
computer monitor. Upgrade pricing is available for previous versions of Liquid as well as select competitive products.
