Discreet now called Autodesk Media and Entertainment (23/3/2005)

Discreet is transitioning its name and branding to better align with parent company Autodesk, Inc. (NASDAQ: ADSK). In its rich 13-year history, Discreet has established itself as a leading digital content creation technology provider in the film, television/broadcast, interactive gaming and design visualisation markets. Our focus has always been on providing the best creative tools to help artists realise their vision.

In 1999 Discreet became part of Autodesk. Today, Discreet and Autodesk are stronger than ever before. With more than 6 million users, Autodesk is one of the largest software and services companies in the world and recently completed a $1.2 billion fiscal year.

Discreet is closer integrating with Autodesk in order to address our customers' needs even more effectively. We anticipate that this integration will enable us to develop technology faster and offer improved support, maintenance and training; ultimately better servicing our customers and sales channel.

Also, there is an opportunity for Autodesk's divisions to leverage one another's technology. Autodesk's markets include building solutions, manufacturing, infrastructure and media & entertainment. There are growing commonalities in customer needs across these markets, such as the need for increased collaboration and global operations, and the use of 3D environments. For all these reasons, Discreet is now going to market as Autodesk Media and Entertainment.

Branding details:

* Discreet is now called Autodesk Media and Entertainment.

* The Discreet name becomes a part of our advanced systems' names: inferno, flame, flint, fire, smoke and lustre. Eg "Discreet inferno", "Discreet smoke" will replace the existing inferno and smoke names, reflecting our division's success, high brand awareness and rich history.

* Our software and infrastructure products, e.g. 3ds max, combustion, cleaner and stone shared are now called "Autodesk 3ds max", "Autodesk stone shared", etc.
