News Fast Forward Video launches new portable FieldPro DVR (23/3/2005) Fast Forward Video, Inc. (FFV), an innovator of digital video recorder (DVR) technology for broadcast, industrial video, presentation and military applications, has announced the launch of its new FieldPro DVR(tm) with IDE drives. The FieldPro DVR is designed for a wide range of uses including security, surveillance, military, law enforcement, broadcast and industrial users. The FieldPro DVR is a portable stand-alone digital video recorder measuring just 5" L x 1.35" H x 3.21" W with an internal 2.5" hard drive. A rugged, compact utilitarian DVR, the FieldPro DVR features video capture and playback at 60 fields per second, resolution greater than 550 lines at 4:1 compression, user-selectable compression ratios ranging from 4:1 to 20:1, recording times averaging between four to 20 minutes per gigabyte, good image quality, scalable MJPEG compression and 720x486 pixel image resolution. Designed with the award-winning technology of Fast Forward Video's OMEGA DECK(tm), ultracompact Recon DVR(tm) and MiniDVR Pro(tm), the FieldPro DVR offers a broad feature set with a compact design for flexibility in industrial recording applications, among others. The DVR's control panel features include record, seek or scan forward/backward, single-frame forward/reverse, delete clips and play/pause. An external 12-V DC power adapter powers the miniature system. Like other DVR solutions from Fast Forward Video, the FieldPro DVR simplifies video management through essential features including time/date stamp and character display, time-lapse recording, NTSC/PAL compatibility and composite and S-video inputs and outputs. Users can record video as PC-viewable QuickTime(tm) files or secure video files. The FieldPro DVR will debut at NAB2005.
