Dayang Announces DP-Edit Plus Video Editor (10/5/2005)

Dayang's new DP-Edit Plus is a broadcast-quality nonlinear video editor for independent or networked environments. It offers full real-time editing of up to four layers. An integral Dayang D3-CG character generator enables titles and subtitles to be handled on an independent timeline, simplifying precise synchronisation with audio and video content. Customised media resource management allows efficient file authorisation, browsing, format-conversion, storage and playout in shared-media networks.

It supports multiple window display, multitrack and multiple-storyboard editing plus high-quality forward/reverse/still cueing. Editing can also be performed in multi-camera studio style. The broad feature-set includes clip-duration compression and expansion as well as clip and storyboard recapture. Cubic mapping and cubic resizing can be handled in real-time using a dedicated 3D processor. Additional 3D effects can be previewed in real-time prior to background rendering."

Occupying an 8U chassis, DP-Edit Plus consists of five modules: software codec, effects engine, hardware driver, resource manager and Dayang Redbridge I/O board. Each module can be individually upgraded in line with technical advances and evolving standards.

Compatible with DV/DVCAM/DVCPRO 25/50, MPEG-2 and MXF, DP-Edit-Plus can perform fast ingest of video, audio and remote timecode. I/O connectivity includes embedded SDI, 4:2:2 component YUV and key. High and low resolution elements and streamed-media clips can be ingested simultaneously.
