Pyramix 'Native' V5.0 Offers Increased Potential (10/6/2005)

The software only version of their acclaimed Pyramix Virtual Studio DAW Pyramix 'Native' has undergone a major increase in specification and functionality. The Standard Native system grows from 2 to 4 inputs and outputs and the more advanced Native Media Bundle grows to 8 inputs and outputs. Both versions have increased from 8 to 24 track editing, mixing and processing. In addition, Native and Media Bundle now contains all the increased functionality of the Pyramix Virtual Studio V5.0 software with the option of 96kHz sample rate.

This new design is ideal to meet the needs of today's Radio Broadcasters who require professional, but lower cost laptop or desktop audio tools for their recording, editing and preproduction mixing needs.

Pyramix 'Native' is designed to operate on any Windows(R) XP based desktop or Lap-top PC using the computer's on-board audio engine or ASIO compatible audio card. It offers all the real-time editing and mixing capabilities of Merging's highly successful Pyramix Virtual Studio (VS) system and supports all the same audio formats including WAV, BWF, AIFF, SD2 and more. All audio formats can be mixed within the same project with no conversion necessary. The new AAF import and export option also allows project interchange with other mainstream DAW systems.

Pyramix 'Native' has a maximum of 8 inputs and outputs and up to 24 editing tracks and does not require Merging's Mykerinos DSP hardware technology. With a streamlined Pyramix user interface, 'Native' uses Windows drag'n'drop and double click methodology which ensures familiarity and ease of use by all Windows users.

Importantly, Pyramix 'Native' retains all the real-time editing and mixing capabilities of the main Pyramix VS system with real time factory plug-ins for EQ, Dynamics, Metering etc. A range of third party Plug-ins is also available including Reverb, Audio restoration, Time Compress/Expand with Direct-X and VST compatibility.

Activated by a simple USB Dongle, 'Native' can be installed on a PC and/or a Lap-top and the dongle transferred to the required machine at any time. As both Pyramix Native and Pyramix Virtual Studio are easily networked as standard, using any windows based network protocol makes accessing and transferring files between working machines extremely simple.
