News Hamlet Makes the Move to HD Easier with Flexible Test and Measurement at IBC2005 (26/7/2005) At IBC2005, Hamlet will showcase its latest innovations including the Flexiscope base-unit with HD/SD and SD/composite modules; the Protean Axiom and Index HD and SD/composite portable signal generators; Vidscope-vx PC-based software measurement and monitoring for DV to HD; and the robust Peliscope monitoring unit. Hamlet is internationally recognised as a concept leader in television test and measurement, whose products are used by broadcast professionals worldwide. Flexiscope is the hand-held portable base-unit that now offers the latest modules for HD/SD or SD and composite. Each module enables test and measurement of embedded and AES/EBU audio. Flexiscope's in-built, high-quality, daylight LCD makes displayed picture, traces, errors and operational status crystal clear while digital error logging against time-code plus trace downloads provide confirmation of fault occurrences. It also includes a loop, external reference input, batteries and mains adaptor. Ê In addition, VidScope-vx software for HD, SD, HDV, and DV signals provides PC desktop or portable measurement and monitoring to assist creative professionals. Meanwhile, the PeliScope is a hardened field television-signal-monitoring package with an inbuilt LCD, options for SDI, composite, component YC, DV, and analogue, embedded and AES/EBU audio operations. Hamlet will also show its LCD Scope 292WVA - the 'do it all' monitoring instrument that operates in all HD, SD, component, composite and YC video standards, plus embedded and analogue audio. Conveniently backwards compatible, the LCD Scope 292WVA is the comprehensive test & measurement solution. "As signal formats continue to evolve and requirements change, so too must signal test and measurement technology," says Hamlet managing director Steve Nunney. "Hamlet's latest raft of products features a richness of capability, functionality but more importantly, flexibility required by our users. Hamlet makes it easier for broadcast professionals seeking to gear up for the switch to HD."
