Sonic Studio Set to Launch, Demo and Preview New Professional Solutions at 119th AES Convention (29/9/2005)

The Audio Engineering Society will be holding their 119th Convention in the ever busy city of New York. Participation by Sonic Studio, LLC in the main hall will afford an opportunity for the organization to launch new products, demonstrate upcoming offerings, and provide a glimpse at future technologies of note.

The company will provide the first public showing of several new items. A quick look at the show highlights include:

- the release of the Model 302 FireWire interface - the release of SonicStudio¥DDP 2.1 - the first public preview of the nexStage DSD product line - the first public preview of soundBlade¥CD 1.0 - technology demonstrations of upcoming hardware & software

For starters, they will dŽbut the premier member of Series 300 hardware, the Model 302. The Model 302, a two channel, audiophile FireWire interface, is the first example of Sonic StudioÕs future platform for hardwareÐaccelerated PCM production. The Model 302, with multiple analog and digital I/O and onÐboard DSP, is equally at home in both studio and location work. It offers exceptional quality, versatility and power in a small, busÐpowered package.

Also making its first showing is version 2.1 of the ground breaking premastering package for Mac OS, SonicStudio¥DDP. SonicStudio¥DDP is the only complete premastering application available for Mac OS and includes loadÐback, validation, playback and modification of DDP file sets, along with creation and delivery of CD-DA reference discs and DDP v2 files. The application, offered as a demo download, is a low cost essential for any studio employing a DDPÐenabled workflow.

Hot on the heels of an agreement with Philips Intellectual Property & Standards to take over the ownership of the complete portfolio of products and services from their ProTECH subsidiary, Sonic Studio will be exhibiting the new line of nexStage DSD and PCM postÐproduction products. The nexStage range includes a variety of transcoding, encoding, authoring, metering, imaging and validation tools for anyone working with high resolution audio.

On the product horizon, Sonic Studio will be demonstrating nearÐrelease versions of their much anticipated soundBlade¥CD application for CD preparation. soundBlade¥CD is the first general audience premastering application for Mac OS to come to market in over a decade and anticipation in the pro audio community is high.

Future tech at the Sonic Studio booth will illustrate the ongoing commitment to the development roadmap set out by company executives. In keeping with prior technology demonstrations at the 118th AES in May, the company will be running examples of multichannel production hardware and software along with experimental modules for restoration and workflow improvement.

To learn more, stop by booth 1125 in the Jacob Javits Convention Center from October 7th through the 10th.
