DVS Announces Version 2.0 of its CLIPSTER Conforming and Finishing System (5/10/2005)

DVS Digital Video Systems announces the release of version 2.0 for its conforming and finishing system CLIPSTER. 4K processing, multiformat editing, primary and secondary color correction including realtime 3D LUTs set new standards for high-end film and HD project work.

DVS Digital Video Systems announces at IBC the release of CLIPSTER version 2.0. CLIPSTER enjoys worldwide recognition as an open workstation for high-quality film and HD work.

The system is equipped with powerful hardware and innovative software. Version 2.0 offers numerous new features including secondary color correction, real-time color management and content browsing. The performance and quality of CLIPSTER is boosted with the ability to process 4K RGB 12 bit film-data in real time and the system now conforms native 4K materials in RGB 12 bit up to 4096 ´ 3112. A host of important attributes like zoom and pan, rotation, flip and flop, primary color correction and versioning round off the powerful feature set.

The VFX possibilities in CLIPSTER are extended further by means of the OpenFX interface, which runs plug-ins from other manufacturers. Real-time 3D LUTs establish the required "film look" during conforming and finishing. For this, CLIPSTER supports the color management systems of ARRI, Kodak and Rising Sun Research. Furthermore, clips of different resolutions up to 4K RGB 12 bit can be processed together in real time on the same timeline. The system can record and play any resolution, bit depth, color space and data format in real time and without any conversion.

The user interface, too, has been further optimized as part of the version 2.0 package. The GUI makes system operating now noticeably more intuitive. Multiple video tracks and new trackball panels for color correction increase user friendliness and system ergonomics.

CLIPSTER version 2.0 will be shipped with all new orders. Existing CLIPSTER customers can, of course, bring their systems up to the latest level by means of a software upgrade.

CLIPSTER functions seamlessly, too, with the real-time DI central storage DVS-SAN. The integrated "DI-Team" of CLIPSTER, DVS-SAN and the Pronto line of digital disk recorders form the perfect combination for any conforming, finishing, video I/O and film-data storage needs.
