Doremi's Palm-Sized HDG-20 Test Signal Generator Covers SD, HD and 2k (7/11/2005)

Doremi is now shipping its new HDG-20 Test Signal Generator for SD, HD and 2k. It replaces the popular HDG-10 and adds several new features. These features include a sync input to genlock the unit to an external sync source, a PC and MAC software GUI for serial remote control and new video patterns. It also features a 5 to 18 volt input range to facilitate connection to battery packs.

The palm-sized HDG-20 provides an extensive list of advanced functions that belie its size. Features include still and moving test patterns in SD and HD formats at full broadcast quality. It also outputs audio tone, timecode and closed caption characters. Beyond video requirements it also provides a 2k output via dual-link HD-SDI for D-cinema applications.

Doremi designed the HDG-20 to offer video professionals a low cost portable test generator to calibrate and test video equipment and displays at broadcast, post production, concert, home theatre, R&D facilities and more. Its ability to combine any still pattern with a moving pattern creates hundreds of pattern options. Other features include Saveâ that preserves settings at power off, and a lockable power connector to prevent accidental shut down. Direct control is provided via four buttons that operate the menus displayed on the bright LCD screen.

The HDG-20 offers 480i, 576i , 720p, 1080i, 1080p and 2048x1080 video formats. Video connections include SDI, HD-SDI and dual-link HD-SDI. A DVI output can be provided via Doremi's HDVI-20 converter.

Users can keep up to date with the latest developments as the use of a flash E-PROM memory allows hassle free updates. Users can download new firmware from Doremi's website to keep their HDG-20 current with any new video patterns and features.
