Bluefish444 Announces Major Software Update: Symmetry 3.0

Bluefish444 today announced a new version of its Windows-based proprietary integrated digital intermediate (DI) acquisition, review & playout software, Symmetry. Symmetry 3.0 is immediately available for all Bluefish444 uncompressed SD/HD SDI videographic cards via Bluefish444's retail installer V5.2.4, and is free of charge

Symmetry 3.0 offers a number of exciting new features, including;

o Play List for clip assembly of Video and Sym files: Symmetry provides the basic ability to edit and assemble video clips for review and export.

o Saving and loading projects supporting the XML format: Symmetry projects can be saved and archived in the XML format preventing loss of data and allowing for the sharing of project information with other XML compatible applications.

o Targa 32bit ARGB file format support: Symmetry's supported file formats have been extended to the Targa file format, which is an industry standard format used in the CG animation industry.

o Asset management features for preview control and sorting: Symmetry allows for the control of information contained in the Bin and Play List windows, allowing the user to customize their assets within the user interface (UI). The sorting feature allows assets to be sorted by their properties such as clip name, clip duration and reel name etc.

o Context menus in Bin and Play List: Symmetry enables the use of the mouse to access features available in different windows of the UI.

o Improved UI supporting disabled features for invalid options: The Symmetry UI has been even more simplified by disabling features not relevant to the mode in use.

o Status line showing current hardware and software settings: Symmetry monitors the current status of the Bluefish444 hardware; video mode, frame rate, pixel format etc and the current status of Symmetry software settings so as to enable the user to adjust for any differences.

o 4:3 and 16:9 aspect ratio viewport mode: Symmetry allows for the accurate preview of footage captured in widescreen mode. o Frame advance & frame reverse: Symmetry can advance and reverse by one frame at a time for preview.
