News Maximum Throughput Showcases New Technology Including Uncompressed Dual HD Stream DDR Functionality (17/5/2006) Maximum Throughput Inc., developers of ultra high performance software-based solutions for networked storage infrastructure and media management, announced today that they will be demonstrating several industry first technologies at the National Association of Broadcaster's (NAB) show in Las Vegas. In addition to demonstrating the Sledgehammer TM and XstonerTM product lines as they are used in many facilities today, the company will be showing the following new technologies: € Sledgehammer Dual Stream - the industry's first-ever uncompressed dual stream HD-capable digital disk recorder (DDR). The ideal system in support of disk-to-disk color grading, Sledgehammer's new dual stream capability allows it to supply the source footage for grading, and simultaneously act as the destination VTR, recording the final graded material to the same storage. Sledgehammer systems still maintain their high-speed NAS capabilities in the dual stream configuration. € MAXcluster - the first clustered storage solution to support guaranteed real-time I/O streams. MAXcluster TM provides a transparent clustered storage solution for multiple Sledgehammer systems, and supports multiple real-time I/O streams at HD and even 2K resolutions while still providing simultaneous NAS-based access to all shared contents. € High-Speed Backup - backup via Infiniband or 10GigE connectivity. Supporting sustained speeds of up to 500MB/sec., this capability eliminates the bottleneck that arises when dealing with many terabytes of data that must be regularly backed up. € Wiretap and PC Support for Xstoner - Xstoner will be shown running on both the Mac and PC platforms, and will also be demonstrated in a Wiretap-enabled Autodesk environment.
