News MOG Solutions to offer key MXF tools for SD and HD files with Metadata support (17/8/2006) MOG Solutions (Stand 7.200) the worldwide leader in professional MXF and Metadata technology will be showing at IBC 2006 how easy it is to handle metadata in SD and HD MXF files, increasing productivity in tapeless/IT-based workflows. The Material eXchange Format or MXF is the industry standard file interchange format defined by the SMPTE designed to address the requirements in the broadcast and production environment. Adoption of this SMPTE standard is currently a major priority for all broadcast and IT technology manufacturers and these implementations are increasingly being made possible using the award wining MOG Solutions software tools. During IBC 2006, MOG Solutions will show a revolutionary approach for handling metadata in HD and SD files with a simple laptop computer, allowing significantly cost effective solutions for the production and archive of material. “MOG Solutions is adding more robustness to our MXF development products, maximizing interoperability and minimizing time-to-market, while allowing simple integration at any stage of the workflow from content creation to post-production. In this way we are not only helping the leading manufacturers to implement real-world MXF Solutions but we also gained a considerable experience in how to help broadcasters making the best possible use of file-based interoperable solutions. This is only made possible by a full implementation of the SMPTE standard which only MOG Solutions is ready to provide.” – said Vitor Teixeira, VP of Product Development and Sales, MOG Solutions’ leading position is consolidated by partnering with market leaders – like Apple, Grass Valley, Hewlett-Packard, Omneon Video Networks, Panasonic, Sony, Seachange, Telestream, and several others – offering development tools for the correct integration of MXF. Among recent success stories, MOG Solutions is proud to have contributed to the success of NBC’s 2006 Winter Olympics coverage, in Torino, with the development of the proxy capture system from the HD infrastructure. In another recent development, previewed at NAB’06, MOG Solutions will launch at IBC 2006 the “MXF::IO for Matrox DSX” plug-in which allows the ability to capture and playback MXF files integrated with the Matrox DSX Platform. Very popular among system integrators, the Matrox DSX Platform will now benefit from the MXF support provided by MOG Solutions, helping to achieve fully interoperable solutions. “Our recent developments and success stories have shown why our software tools are considered to be the MXF reference and why an increasing number of key manufacturers are using our technology”, concludes Vitor Teixeira. Pushing file based solutions even further; MOG Solutions and Thomson Grass Valley™ will demonstrate at IBC 2006 a set of new products with capabilities to handle GXF streams. GXF is a SMPTE standard and a core interchange file format from Thomson Grass Valley™. MOG Solutions will demonstrate how the integration of file formats such as MXF and GXF can be achieved, helping solution providers and broadcast operations worldwide.
