News Industry-Wide Support Of Grass Valley REV PRO Technology Grows For Open, IT-immersed Workflows (11/9/2006) Major Utility and Applications Providers Continue to Embrace The Infinity Series Camcorders, Digital Media Players, and REV PRO Removable Media From Thomson A ground swell of momentum is building among broadcast and video production companies that have announced a collaborative development effort and universal support for the Grass Valley(tm) REV PRO(tm) off-the-shelf removable recording media and Infinity(tm) Series of IT-immersed products from Thomson (Euronext Paris: 18453; NYSE: TMS). In the past few months, four new members have joined nine major companies that are all developing seamless compatibility between their respective systems and digital file formats captured with the Grass Valley Infinity series camcorders and played on the Infinity digital media players/recorders. Together these partners represent key utility tools and applications software that broadcasters and video professionals use in their tapeless news and production workflows. Fast Forward Video, Focus Enhancements, OpenCube, and The Rhozet Corporation are the newest members of the Grass Valley Open Alliance Partner (OAP) initiative and the Grass Valley REV PRO Certification Program. The REV PRO Certification Program includes those companies that have announced support for the IT-centric removable media and more open and flexible approaches to newsgathering and field production. Together with the Grass Valley Infinity series camcorders and digital media players/recorders, these critical companies bring their respective expertise- in high-performance plug-in accelerators, advanced codecs, MXF wrappers, and universal transcoding tools-to guarantee that customers can develop complete production systems that facilitate a variety of open applications and workflows. Adobe Systems, Avid Technology, CineForm, Inc., Harris Corp., Hewlett-Packard, MainConcept, Matrox, MOG Solutions, and Telestream, have all joined the Grass Valley OAP program as Charter members and will integrate REV PRO into their respective nonlinear editing systems, workstations, servers software, and tapeless system designs.
