Matrox Extio Series now compatible with Matrox Axio editing systems (25/9/2006)

Matrox Graphics and Matrox Video Products Group are pleased to announce the compatibility of the Matrox Extio and Matrox Axio product lines for post-production professionals. This unique combination allows the Matrox Extio to deliver remote setup flexibility, multi-display graphics, and a silent work environment to the powerful Matrox Axio HD and SD platforms, significantly enhancing the editing experience.

"The Extio's multi-monitor support, various connectivity options for computer peripherals, and fanless design will allow Axio users to edit SD or HD projects at unprecedented productivity levels, all the while allowing the potentially noisy host system to sit outside the editing control room."

The Matrox Extio is the world's first external multi-display Remote Graphics Unit (RGU) that links remotely to the host system over fiber optic cable at distances of up to 250 meters (820 feet). The Matrox Extio can conveniently connect up to four digital or analog monitors while providing audio, USB, and FireWire* connections for user interface peripherals support.

The Matrox Axio family of products makes Adobe(R)Premiere(R) Pro the foremost realtime HD and SD editor for demanding broadcast and post-production environments. It features no-render HD and SD finishing in compressed and uncompressed formats, superior realtime color correction tools, advanced realtime effects, and a full complement of analog and digital audio and video inputs and outputs. It also lets users work seamlessly with the other Adobe Production Studio applications, fully supporting Adobe Dynamic Link and providing WYSIWYG video output support for Adobe After Effects(R) and Adobe Photoshop(R), as well as other industry-leading animation and compositing packages. Matrox Axio incorporates Matrox Flex and Power of X technologies to leverage CPU and GPU power to provide the ultimate HD and SD post-production experience.

Availability

The Matrox Extio F1400 is available now and the Matrox Extio F1420 will be available in October of 2006. The Matrox Axio platforms are available worldwide through a network of authorized dealers.
