News Harris Corporation Unveils New Graphics Solutions for its Inscriber HD/SD Portfolio at IBC2006 (26/9/2006) Harris Corporation (NYSE:HRS) is launching new graphics solutions for its Inscriber(r) family of products at IBC2006, including new functionality for the Inscriber(r) G-Series(tm) live production graphics systems; Inscriber(r) G-Store(tm) media management solution; Inscriber(r) G-Channel(tm) information channel solution; and Inscriber(r) RTX(tm) 2D/3D graphics platform. Harris also is featuring its Inscriber(r) AutoCG(tm) networked graphics solution integrated with its H-Class(tm) ADC-100(tm) playout automation system. For live broadcast graphics applications, Harris is showcasing the G-Series family of products, and visitors to the company's booth can see the worldwide launch of simultaneous SD and HD from one G-Series system. The G-Series(tm) is the ultimate, real-time HD/SD-selectable live production graphics system, streamlining video graphics content creation, interface and playout. The flagship product of the G-Series family is the G3(tm), an HD/SD-selectable character generator (CG) system. The G3(tm) offers customers a wide variety of key functionality including MOS and automation interfaces; real-time animation and 3D FlyBy(tm); multiple-format clips; and OverLay(tm), which enables elements like clocks, timers, tickers and time/temperature bugs to remain visible while messages and pages are being changed. Visitors to the show also can see the worldwide launch of the G-Store(tm) on-air, real-time media management and playout system. Available as SD or HD/SD selectable, this unique still and clip store enables premium content management and real-time retrieval of stills, clips, animations, logos and full Inscriber(r) pages. At IBC2006, Harris also announces the worldwide launch of the G-Channel solution for creating, managing and delivering graphics-intensive, 24-hour, HD/SD, automated broadcast channels. Combining high-quality graphics, animations, audio, video and real-time, external data feeds with easy drag-and-drop functionality, G-Channel(tm) is ideal for real estate showcase channels and automated music, news and shopping channels. Harris also announces new functionality for its RTX real-time, 2D/3D graphics platform. With innovative hardware advancements, dynamic real-time effects and an incredible multi-layer environment, RTX(tm) gives users the freedom to create a custom broadcast solution. Enhancements to the RTX(tm) include the first ever .NET interface supporting 3D Flyby; and the playback of dynamic content in HD/SD Maya scenes. Finally, Harris is showcasing its ADC-100 playout automation system integrated with the AutoCG networked graphics solution and Direct Control(tm) application. AutoCG(tm) allows connection to automation and news vendor systems, providing a better way to manage graphics across networks, control graphic output, and ingest news vendor data. A unique advantage to AutoCG(tm) is Direct Control(tm), a companion application that provides a better way to manage graphic resources across LANs, edit template content, build or edit playlists and control graphic output. AutoCG control was first demonstrated at NAB2006 using the highly adaptable ADC-100 Universal Sercom Device driver, which supports two-way communications, advanced diagnostics, serial or TCP/IP control and a configurable polling method. "Harris is pleased to showcase these latest advancements to its comprehensive graphics portfolio," said Tim Thorsteinson, president of the Harris Broadcast Communications Division. "In both live and offline broadcast and post production environments, our graphics family of products offers a competitive edge with the highest-quality video output and increased productivity workflow."
