EDIROL Expands its Direct Linear Video Editor Range (27/9/2006)

The EDIROL DV-7DL PRO Direct Linear video editor has already become a standard in many areas of the video industry including broadcast, education and corporate video. Its Direct Linear editing technology focuses on creativity and productivity, offering a hugely intuitive editing process and outstanding stability, ease-of-use and expressiveness. Direct Linear editing products help the user create video using a live feel in real-time, minimising interruptions to creativity.

EDIROL is releasing two new additions to the DV-7DL range, the DV-7DL PRO Studio Edition and the DV-7DL G. The DV-7DL PRO Studio Edition has many new and expanded features, including new effects for transitions, filters, composition, audio and titling. The A/B roll of the PRO Studio Edition has been redesigned into an 'Infinity Roll' offering the utmost in ease of use and flexibility when mixing multiple cameras. The PRO Studio Edition also offers advanced title effects such as rotate, stretch, blur, and zoom blur. With Vari-Speed playback, the user can adjust video playback speed to change over time. Real-time colour correction has also been augmented to include a Vector Scope and Waveform Monitor for broadcast applications.

The new DV-7DL G benefits from a price point and functionality designed for the entry-level user. The system includes the necessary hardware and software to enable all the basic functions of a standard non-linear digital video editing system and is easily upgradeable to the PRO or PRO SE for increased capability. Both of the new systems come equipped with FireWire (DV in/out) ports, S-video and composite video, and stereo audio. With the internal processing and storage being DV stream, quality remains high from start to finish.

Current users of the DV-7DL series editors including the new DV-7DL G will be able to upgrade their systems to the PRO Studio Edition. In addition, all upgrades now come complete with a removable hard drive (80GB or 120GB).

The DV-7DLG price is £ 1,999 and Û 2,990, the upgrade DLG-SE-P is priced at £999 and Û 1,490, all prices inc VAT.

The DV-7DL PRO price is £2,799 and Û 3,990, the upgrade DLP-SE-P is priced at £499 and Û 749, all prices inc VAT.
