News Fairlight Introduces New DREAM II Product Family Powered by Crystal Core Technology (20/10/2006) Fairlight' DREAM II Family widens product range and lowers entry cost Ñ 21st Century Fairlight DAW delivers at under USD 20K!! Fairlight couples advanced production capabilities with even greater affordability, video integration and superior sonic performance using patent-pending FPGA-powered PCIe cards; Bringing to bear the unprecedented economic and performance gains of its new patent-pending FPGA-powered Crystal Core (CC-1) technology, Fairlight today introduced the new DREAM II Product Family. DREAM II features Fairlight's market-proven tactile control and mixing surfaces including Satellite, StationPlus, Constellation- XT, HD Factory and Anthem powered by the new CC-1 multi-media engine. According to Fairlight CEO John Lancken, the CC-1 powered DREAM II Family will provide audio professionals around the globe with considerably greater performance power, lower cost of ownership and the versatility to concentrate on audio challenges rather technology integration. "The DREAM II Family enables audio professionals to make a declaration of independence," Lancken said today. "We have given them the freedom to choose from affordable, open and very powerful and versatile audio production technologies with a product roadmap that ensures their investment has value as the pro audio technology and business environments evolve." The DREAM II Family delivers lower cost of ownership across the whole range of Fairlight systems and sets a new benchmark for HD compliant media creation systems. Fairlight's recently introduced HD DREAM Factory, which integrates a complete suite of HD audio, video and workflow tools, now comes standard as a 96 channel system for less than US $100K. The Satellite workstation rewards an investment of just US $20K and now becomes available to all those who long aspired to the speed and productivity of a Fairlight DAW but found the cost prohibitive. Not only does the DREAM II Family deliver on price but also sets a new benchmark in low latency processing which catapults Fairlight users even further ahead in terms of sonic quality. CC-1's Dynamic Resolution Optimization (DRO) technology and extended channel processing allows engineers to apply the best processing for each system task. This ensures unsurpassed audio quality, exponentially increases efficiency and provides greater performance at a lower cost. Fairlight DREAM II products include support for USB connected Human Interface Devices (HIDs); engages third party plug-ins and sound design through the 64 channel audio bridge and with the SX-20 and optional SX-48, Fairlight extends the range and modularity of audio and sync input and output options. "Overall the DREAM II Family stylishly aggregates a compelling array of digital innovations to put more power in the hands of Fairlight customers than was ever before imaginable," noted Stuart DeMarais, Fairlight Sales & Marketing Director. "And what is truly remarkable is that we are managing to raise the performance bar while reducing our price points to a more accessible level. The DREAM Family, particularly Constellation-XT, has been an unprecedented success in all markets and now we look forward to emulating the sales and customer satisfaction with the new DREAM II Family!"
