Zaxcom Celebrates 20th Anniversary With Product Sale (27/12/2006)

Zaxcom is celebrating 20 years of leadership in the television and film industries. The provider of professional audio equipment first opened its doors in late 1986 with a time base control (TBC) system for video editing, and has since grown to be a front-runner in the development of innovative audio recording products for broadcasting, newsgathering, concert and presentation, film, and theater applications. To celebrate its legacy as an industry innovator, Zaxcom will offer discounts on its Deva IV, Deva V, and Deva Mix-12 systems, now through January 15.

"It's remarkable to look back on 20 years in the industry and see how far we have come," said Glenn Sanders, president of Zaxcom. "From starting out with just one product geared to the video space, we've grown to dozens of products devoted to location and broadcast audio professionals. We're looking forward to carrying this momentum into the new year with new feature sets and products that will continue to address the issues audio professionals face in their industry day in and day out."

Sanders first launched Zaxcom to introduce a workflow-control system for video editing. The TBC system quickly became an industry staple and received an Emmy(r) award for outstanding achievement in engineering development in 1989. In 1992, the company first addressed the professional audio market and has since introduced a number of systems designed to help audio professionals keep pace with developments in digital and HD broadcasting. Sanders and Zaxcom chief engineer Howard Stark embraced on-location audio in 1996 with the introduction of the Deva four-channel portable hard disk recorder. This unique product received the Scientific and Engineering Award at the 75th Annual Academy Awardsú in 2003. Zaxcom also developed the first wireless professional body-pack system to feature digital modulation.

During the company's 20th anniversary sale, customers will be able to receive $500 off the Deva IV hard disk recorder, $500 off the Deva Mix-12 digital mixing console, $1000 off the Deva V latest-generation hard disk recorder, or $2000 off the Deva V and Mix-12 package. Contact your Zaxcom dealer for more details on taking advantage of this offer.

As Zaxcom enters its third decade, efforts to engineer professional audio technologies that anticipate and address novel developments in the broadcasting and presentation industries are already under way. The company is preparing a new Web site that will go live by the first of the new year to better inform prospective customers on their full product line.
