Dayang introduces new additions to its broadcast-quality editing, character generation and networking equipment at NAB2007 (8/2/2007)

Dayang D3-Edit HD9 high-definition production workstation

Latest addition to Dayang's range of PC-based video and audio editing systems, the D3-Edit HD9 is a broadcast-quality HD production workstation. Five layers of HD stream playout can be performed in real time with 3D DVEs active on the top four layers. Integral D3-CG 3D graphics, titling and animation deliver the capabilities of a powerful HD production workstation for standalone or networked applications. High-grade 12-bit real-time chroma-key, luma-key, graphics and title key matte extraction are incorporated, including fine mask adjustment to ensure a clean and vivid foreground. The D3-Edit HD9 has four upconversion modes (window, box, margin and zoom) augmented by three downconversion modes (box, margin and zoom). Modes can be selected in any combination. Complete 12-bit primary/secondary/local colour correction is provided, augmented by real-time signal analysis. Audio facilities include high-precision waveform editing, audio mixing and easy interfacing with third-party audio workstations via industry-standard XML file format. The D3-Edit HD9 supports IEEE-1394 devices (miniDV, DVCAM, DVCPRO25/50), Panasonic P2/P2 HD and Sony XDCAM/XDCAM HD.

Dayang D3-CG 3D HD/SD character generator

Building on Dayang's long experience of producing high-performance character generators for live broadcast as well as offline use, the D3-CG 3D is a template-based HD/SD title creation and system. Features include fast text search, editing and forwarding, real-time content update from a rolling data source, editing during playout plus on-the-fly control of roll and crawl position and speed. Up to nine animated logos can be generated simultaneously or independently. 3D objects and scenes can be rendered and played out in real time with the option of drag-and-drop 3D object creation and single-click effects completion. 3D models can be sourced in 3D Max or .X file format from third-party devices. 3D processing parameters include globe, cube, diagram, lighting, globe and cube effects.

Dayang Red Bridge series PC interface cards

Dayang's new Red Bridge series plug-in cards allow broadcast-quality video signal interfacing with the latest generation of high-performance PCs. Ten cards are available (Red Bridge 100, 200, 1100, 2100, 2100K and 4000, HD 200, HD 1100, Red X and Red Stone) to suit a wide variety of installations:

Red Bridge 100 has a CVBS/S-Video I/O stereo analog audio I/O, microphone input and stereo headphone output.

Red Bridge 200 incorporates the features of the 100 plus a component output, 5.1 analog surround audio output and an RS-422 interface.

Red Bridge 1100 combines the facilities of the 200 with an S-Video I/O, component video I/O, black burst input, SDI I/O with 4 channel embedded audio, SDI preview output, two analog audio I/O and two AES/EBU audio I/O.

Red Bridge 2100 is an outstandingly versatile interface with one input channel and two output channels. Features include video, CVBS, S-Video, component and SDI inputs and outputs, independent key or preview output, genlock input and loopthrough output, eight analog balanced audio inputs and outputs, eight AES/EBU audio and 16 SDI embedded audio input and outputs.

Red Bridge 2100K incorporates a CVBS input, SDI input, CVBS output plus key channel, SDI output plus 1 SDI key channel, an independent CVBS output for preview, independent SDI output for preview, four SDI embedded audio inputs and outputs, genlock input and loopthrough output.

Red Bridge 4000 has four CVBS/SDI output channels, genlock, black-burst input and loopthrough output. Each channel is equipped with two AES/EBU audio outputs and two analog audio outputs.

Red Bridge HD 200 is a multiformat card with HD and SD component I/O, SD S-Video I/O, SD CVBS I/O and preview output, stereo analog audio I/O, two-channel AES/EBU audio I/O, microphone input and stereo headphone output.

Red Bridge HD 1100 is equipped with an HD/SD SDI input including 16 channels of embedded audio,an HD/SD SDI output with 16 audio embedded, an HD/SD SDI key or preview output, eight AES/EBU audio inputs, eight AES/EBU audio outputs and a genlock input (black-burst or tri-level sync).

Red X incorporates 20 SD-SDI inputs, each with four embedded audio channels,

Red Stone is a dedicated card for transport stream capture, configured with four 270 megabit/s ASI inputs.
