News Sony Delivers Commitment to HD and Beyond - 'HD for All: Real Systems, Right Now' at NAB 2007 (27/3/2007) At stand SU 906 at NAB 2007, Sony will demonstrate the full range of its industry-leading products and system capabilities for high-quality, innovative content creation, from acquisition and asset management to advanced network production and final output. "Our continuing HD theme at this year's show highlights our vision for helping the industry move into an HD future, now. Our impressive European sales highlight that our customers are responding positively to this message," said Naomi Climer, vice president Sony Europe. "To remain competitive in this new operating environment, the broadcast and production communities are looking for complete end-to-end systems that not only deliver new workflow efficiencies, but also create opportunities for HD production in new applications. Through our wide range of products and services, Sony enables them to control the content process from the early stages of acquisition to the final output." At NAB 2007 a range of Sony products will be on display, including the newest member of Sony's high-end CineAlta(tm) line of digital 24P systems, the F23 camera, and a redesigned line of professional monitors. In addition, a full range of Sony's HD production equipment will be featured. This includes cameras and camcorders, multi-format switchers, decks and displays that are used by TV stations for prime-time episodic programming, newscasts and sports broadcasts, as well as by OB-van companies, production houses and studios. While Sony is committed to delivering the best systems the industry has to offer today, we are also looking ahead to the future and its possibilities. NAB provides us with an opportunity to showcase our plans for upcoming products and technologies, including the next generation of XDCAM and our strategy for 'Beyond HD' technologies," said Naomi Climer. NEW PRODUCT ROUNDUP F23 Camera Sony's F23 camera is a versatile production tool that features 1920 by 1080 RGB 4:4:4 imaging for high-end digital production. As part of Sony's high-end CineAlta(tm) line of acquisition products for digital television and motion picture content creation, the F23 has been adapted to be more "film user-friendly." The camera body is compatible with a variety of film camera accessories and the lens mount has been built with harder materials for increased durability and reliability. The system's control surface layout, indicators and menu system have also been designed to give film camera users a familiar and intuitive interface. When partnered with Sony's SRW-1 VTR, the F23 can capture and record variable speed images from 1P to 60P at the full HD resolution of 1920 by 1080 pixels. The F23 is scheduled for delivery in early summer. New Professional Monitors LMD-2450W and LMD-2050W With multi-format signal support and a variety of I/O options, Sony's LMD-2450W and LMD-2050W are suitable for AV or IT applications and offer an easy upgrade to HD production.
