News Maximum Throughput Announces New Entry Level Sledgehammer Configuration (11/4/2007) Powerful and Cost Effective System Designed for Mid Market Post and Broadcast Facilities Maximum Throughput Inc., developers of ultra high performance software-based solutions for networked storage infrastructure and media management, announced today the immediate availability of an entry level Sledgehammer NAS configuration with a starting price below $20,000USD. This system also now comes bundled with the Max-T software applications MAXmedia and Xstoner. "Weâve traditionally built solutions for the high end infrastructure requirements of the post production and broadcast markets", said John Miller, Vice President of Worldwide Sales and Marketing, "but we frequently got asked if there was something that we could deliver for the more price-sensitive mid market. This new entry level Sledgehammer system is designed to address exactly these requests." Built from the same core software and fully upgradeable to the complete Sledgehammer product line, the new entry level configuration is the ideal, media-aware shared storage solution for small to mid size post production facilities, regional broadcasters, and O&Os. It is as well an ideal solution for educational and corporate accounts where digital media content must be shared and distributed. Finally, this new configuration will also bolster the companyâs commitment to its channel strategy by providing resellers with an entry level product. The entire Sledgehammer product line is built on the most performant commodity hardware, and is enabled by the companyâs software applications. "The fact that today weâre shipping a Sledgehammer for $20,000 which cost $125,000 only three years ago validates our decision to focus the companyâs resources on building smart software instead of special purpose hardware," added Miller.
