Gee Broadcast Systems Ships Geevs SDE (14/6/2007)

Geevs SDE is a member of the Geevs SD Server family and provides a new low cost Broadcast Server solution for those not requiring HD and who need a limited number of channels. Two configurations are shipping now. The first, Geevs SDE1, provides 1 record and 2 play channels. The second, Geevs SDE2, has 2 record and 4 play channels. All channels have Digital and Analogue, Video and Audio.

Geevs SDE1 has a list price of £6,250 or €9,375 and Geevs SDE2 has a list price of £7,250 or €10,875. Both units are equipped with space for up to 6 internal hard drives providing a compact unit but with capacity for 100+ hours of storage at 25 Mbits/sec.

The standard Geevs options for scheduled playout, live studio operation, time delay or networked tapeless operation are available. Support is provided for avi, quicktime and mxf file formats with DV, mpeg2, and mjpeg codecs. Uncompressed operation is also supported.

Larger systems can be configured with multiple Geevs servers and Sharknet shared storage. Edit systems such as Lightworks, Avid or Final Cut Pro can also be incorporated for seamless and tapeless operations. Files can be edited while being recorded for fast turnaround productions.

Other members of the Geevs Server range can provide up to 8 playout channels in a single server or HD operation. All members of the Geevs range share the same user interfaces and can be combined in a single integrated production environment. Upgrades are available between different models.

The Geevs SDE reflects Gee Broadcasts continued commitment to on going developments to enhance the value offered by the Geevs range. Geevs servers are now in use in Broadcast operations in over 50 countries around the world.
