Doremi Introduces 3D/4K Video Player and Affordable DVI-to-HD Converter (18/6/2007)

Doremi Labs, the parent company of Doremi Technologies, is introducing two new products at InfoComm 07. The DSV-J2 plays video at up to 4K resolution and includes stereo for 3D exhibition, and the DSDI-20 is a very affordable DVI-to-HD video converter.

DSV-J2 4K Video Player

Doremi Labs introduces the DSV-J2; an HD video, 3D, stereoscopic, 2K and 4K-playback device designed for large screen and special-venue applications. The DSV-J2 supports the playback of MPEG2 and JPEG2000 MXF files at resolutions up to 4K.

The DSV-J2 provides the latest digital playback technology for A/V installations that target a more immersive and unique experience for the audience. It supports playback in high definition (1920x1080), 2K (2048x1080) and optional 4K (4096x2160) resolutions. 3D playback is supported in HD and 2K resolutions. Super widescreen stereoscopic playback is achieved by sending unique video streams to each of two projectors.

The DSV-J2 provides frame-accurate LTC timecode output to synchronize external equipment and up to 8 channels of high quality uncompressed (48 kHz, 24-bit) audio via balanced digital AES/EBU or optional analogue audio.

For control the DSV-J2 features a front panel touchscreen display as well as intuitive playlist software with file playback scheduling that can run on a Windows PC. For increased reliability there are RAID5 disc storage and dual-redundant power supplies.

The 4K-resolution playback is made possible by pairing the DSV-J2 with Doremi Labs MB-4k Media Block processor. The MB-4k outputs images at 4K resolution via 8 dual-link HD-SDI or four DVI connectors.

DSDI-20 converter

The new compact DSDI-20 converts DVI computer signals of up to 1920x1200 to high definition or standard definition SDI video. The analogue VGA format is also supported via a DVI-I input in this highly affordable package.

By converting DVI to SDI, computer-generated images can be recorded, broadcast, and displayed. The DSDI-20's high definition HD-SDI output helps to retain the detail and small fonts typical of computers' high-resolution displays. With frame rate conversion built-in, the DSDI-20 supports NTSC, PAL and popular HD video formats including 1080i, 1080p and 720p.

The DSDI-20 set-up menu is displayed as a burn-in window through its SDI output and an infrared remote control is provided to navigate through the menu settings. Remote operation is also available via easy-to-use GUI software that also features downloadable look-up tables (LUT) to allow the adjustment of colour.
