Digidesign Introduces Comprehensive ICON Mixer Training and Certification Program (18/6/2007)

New Pro Tools 310I provides in-depth, hands-on ICON training and certification

Digidesign is pleased to introduce Pro Tools(r) 310I: Advanced ICON Mixing Techniques, a new educational training program that offers in-depth, hands-on ICON training. Led by Digidesign-certified ICON instructors, Pro Tools 310I focuses on ICON operation and mixing techniques in both music and post-production environments.

"ICON has become the mixing platform of choice for a growing community of professional engineers who are recognizing its workflow benefits in both post and music production environments," states Andy Cook, Digidesign manager of training & education. "As such, we've seen a significant increase in demand for in-depth ICON training, both from working professionals, as well as a growing number of recording/production schools that are integrating ICON into their curriculum. Pro Tools 3101 allows us to meet this demand while providing professionals and new engineers with a highly sought after skill set."

"Pro Tools 3101 is designed to provide engineers with a deeper and more organized understanding of ICON, as well as its integration with Pro Tools and how the two combine to suit a users workflow," explains Rob Campbell, Digidesign-certified Master ICON instructor. "After intense hands-on ICON training, engineers leave with a set of techniques and tips to improve their workflow and unleash their creativity. In addition, those that choose to complete the certification exam will be distinguished as Certified ICON Mixers."

Topics covered in Pro Tools 3101 include:

* Worksurface Basics * Navigating Tracks on the Console * Channel Strip Basics * Assigning and Controlling Plug-ins, Sends, and Panning * Tracking with ICON * Session Navigation, Zooming, and Editing Techniques * Custom Faders * Mixing and Automation Basics * Advanced Mixing and Automation * Surround Panning

Pro Tools 310I: Advanced ICON Mixing Techniques is being rolled out worldwide. The courses are offered at three Digidesign headquarters locations-Daly City, CA (USA), Pinewood Studios (UK), and Tokyo, Japan (training can also be conducted in a designated ICON-equipped facility*). Pro Tools 3101 offers a 1-day ICON Overview Training course or a full 3-day Comprehensive ICON Training course. Optional expert-level certification as a Certified ICON Mixer can be attained by completing the 3-day ICON training course and passing both a hands-on certification exam as well as an on-line exam.
