Merging Technologies Open UK Office (7/11/2007)

Success In The UK Kick-starts Merging UK

Switzerland's Merging Technologies, makers of the Pyramix digital audio workstation and VCube video player, have opened a dedicated sales and support office in the UK to meet the demand of their rapidly growing operation. UK company Total Audio Solutions, who have been the exclusive distributor for Merging in the UK until now, will continue as a principal dealer for Merging's product line. Some of the Pyramix and VCube support personnel from Total Audio Solutions have moved across to Merging UK to ensure continuity of support for Merging's customers, and Sales will be headed as before by Paul Mortimer.

Merging's Head of Sales and Marketing, Ken Barnsley, explains the company's decision to open a dedicated British office. "The UK market for Merging has grown incredibly fast over the last four years, to a level where we felt it important to be able to support our customers directly. Additionally, the introduction of the new Ramses console control system for Pyramix and VCube, with our new network streaming technology for sound and picture, now enables us to offer a total workflow solution for film and television post-production applications, and this in turn requires a dedicated team exclusively concentrating on Merging products."

Claude Cellier, Merging's President, adds: "Every successful company always reaches a point in a particular country where a decision has to be taken to establish a direct support and sales office to ensure that the growth of the market continues in that territory. The UK is a special market for Merging and it is very clear to all of us that we need a direct presence here. Total Audio Solutions have done a great job helping us to establish the UK market, and we will continue to work very closely with them in the future".

Paul Mortimer comments: "We've seen Merging business in the UK grow enormously under the distributorship of Total Audio Solutions, and the time is right to found a directly associated branch of the company here. That's the model that Merging have followed in many other territories, for example in the Benelux countries in Europe and most recently in Asia, which were originally served by distributors and now have dedicated company offices. Best of all, I think we can offer a seamless transition, as the new UK support team is exactly the same as the former one! Our customers won't notice any difference - they might be dealing with a different company behind the scenes, but the people will be exactly the same".

Merging UK is a partnership between Merging in Switzerland, Paul Mortimer and Richard Bowen, a UK businessman with a background in the IT and telecommunications industry and experience of several successful Internet startup ventures. The new company will be run as an independent business fully supported by Merging staff.
