Telecast Fiber Systems Shows New CopperHead DLV3X1 Camera-Mounted Dual-Link Fiber Optic Transceiver at IBC 2007 (23/7/2007)

The new CopperHead DLV3X1 camera-mounted fiber optic HD Dual-Link Video system converts electrical signals to fiber to move uncompressed 4:4:4 and 4:2:2 signals between the camera head and a recording device over just one lightweight, battle-rated fiber optic cable. By replacing three or four coax cables, the DLV3X1 not only reduces the bulk and weight of camera cabling, but also increases signal transmission distances from several hundred feet to as far as nine miles. The compact unit (3.7 inches by 5.5 inches by 1.75 inches) sits between virtually any dual-link 4:4:4 camera and its battery, enabling much greater flexibility, mobility, and efficiency in capturing and monitoring high-quality HD images.

Other New Products for IBC2007:

DiamondBack 4x4 NTSC/PAL Video Multiplexer With Ethernet

The new DiamondBack 4x4 transmits four broadcast-quality analog video signals in each direction and features additional inputs to accommodate audio, intercom, and data signals from the company's Adder II audio multiplexer line. The unit also provides built-in facilities for 10/100 Ethernet transmission. With the DiamondBack 4x4, broadcasters can cost-effectively streamline broadcast-quality productions by incorporating bidirectional analog video and up to 64 audio channels on a single fiber. It is designed to support a full range of television productions, including broadcast announce-booth feeds, courtesy and utility video, high-end video surveillance, traffic cameras, distance learning programming, corporate video distribution, and video arraignment and telemedicine applications. The Diamondback 4x4 is compatible with the Telecast TelePort and TeleThon.

openGear-Compatible Fiber Optic Systems

During IBC2007, Telecast will be showcasing products designed to support the openGear terminal equipment platform from Ross Video. The award-winning platform is based on an open-architecture 2-RU modular frame designed to accommodate up to 10 cards. The combined strengths of Telecast Fiber Systems and other openGear partners' products promise to provide innovative and flexible solutions for the broadcast industry.
