JVC Expands DT-VL Range of Field Portable HD Monitors (29/8/2007)

Exhibiting at IBC 2007 Stand 10.441

JVC has expanded its DT-VL range of HD high performance LCD monitors with 17" and 9" models, both of which are aimed equally at studio and field production.

The advent of HD field production has meant that cameramen, DPs and programme producers want to set up and review their material on larger screens than the traditional 10" field portable 4:3 monitor of standard definition. JVC were alert to this requirement and designed into their range of top end professional LCD monitors, not only a 9", but also a 17" field portable.

Having dual power selection, mains or 12V DC, the monitors are equally suitable to indoor studio use. JVC's attention to detail translates into discreet carrying handles and to fixing points on the rear panel for all main makes of DC battery brackets, ready to feed the monitor's 4 pin XLR connector. A dual-purpose screen protector and anti-glare shield comes standard with the 9" DT-V9L, and is optional with the 17" DT-V17L. A range of accessories, including sun hoods, is available for both models.

These two high performance LCD monitors join the market-accepted 24" and 20" models, DT-V24L and DT-V20L, to make a flexible range which retains the JVC hallmark of quality with affordability, combined with innovation.

JVC Professional's Marketing Communications Manager, Nick Fletcher, commented : "With the two existing 20" and 24" sizes in the range already being well accepted, as manifested by their use in vast monitor walls in new high definition OB vans, JVC has every confidence that these two new smaller DT-VL monitors will be equally well accepted by HD producers on account of their multi-role design for indoor and outdoor use."
