DMi and Kingston Technology Announce Compact Flash Card Compatibility Assurance Scheme (11/9/2007)

DMi D&M Installation has announced that it only recommends the use of Kingston Technology Compact Flash memory cards in its Marantz Professional range of solidstate recorders. The recommendation is the result of a compatibility assurance scheme developed in partnership with Kingston Technology.

Under the cooperative scheme, Kingston Technology's R&D department has rigorously tested its range of CF cards with all Marantz Professional's PMD products, and has provided a list of all compatible memory cards on its website.

Selection of 'Marantz' on the Kingston Technology website's Memory Search facility, provides a list of all memory cards compatible with all Marantz recorders. Marantz and Kingston Technology assure that Marantz PMD recorders are configured for use with the listed Kingston Technology cards, and in the event of any failure in the lifetime of a specified card, Kingston Technology will replace the card FOC.

With many CF cards on the market designed only to meet the performance tolerances required for use with digital cameras and other CE products, issues of reliability resulting from the more critical component quality and operating speeds required for audio recording applications, are a concern for Marantz Professional customers. The joint assurance scheme with Kingston Technology has been undertaken in response to these concerns.
