Digidesign Introduces ICON D-Control ES (19/10/2007)

Updated Aesthetics Offer Enhanced Ergonomics

Digidesign today introduced the latest member of its popular ICON integrated console family. The new large-format Digidesign(r) ICON D-Control(tm) ES, which takes its place alongside the original ICON D-Control(tm) and medium-format ICON D-Command(r), is stylishly enhanced with a darker colour scheme that blends easily with today's modern studio dˇcor. The new D-Control ES also features updated, higher contrast text and graphics for improved legibility in low light, and a new switch LED colour layout to further refine the console's ergonomics.

"We are very proud that in just over three years, ICON systems have become the consoles of choice in over 2,200 music and post-production facilities worldwide," states Rich Nevens, Digidesign's director of professional console sales. "This growing family of dedicated users continues to be one of our greatest development resources, providing feedback that has already helped us to deliver a number of key hardware and software enhancements for the ICON family."

"Today it is with our users' feedback in mind that we are pleased to offer yet another important evolution in the ongoing development of the ICON range. The ICON D-Control ES balances style with enhancements that provide greater visual feedback and improved ergonomics. We are tremendously excited to introduce ICON DControl ES to the professional recording community."

Like existing ICON systems, the new ICON D-Control ES boasts the same unparalleled integration with industry-standard Pro Tools HD(r) software, including complete recall of all session parameters, routing, and plug-ins. Digidesign will continue to offer the award-winning D-Control in its original blue colour scheme, and with the addition of the D-Control ES, users will be able to choose between two aesthetic options that both offer the full range of ICON features. In addition, current ICON D-Control owners will be able to obtain a kit to convert their D-Control into a D-Control ES.
