DVS Makes Future-Proof Workflows Perfect (25/3/2008)

At this year's NAB, DVS Digital Video Systems AG presents innovative and future-proof solutions for post production, broadcast and presentation workflows. Visitors to the DVS booth will experience new high-performance products and convincing features that ensure optimized workflows in professional film and video processing.

DVS will present new products and solutions for demanding film and video workflows at booth no. SL2612. At the DVS booth, visitors to the NAB may see for themselves how powerful, innovative and future-proof technology can be adapted individually to the needs of the customer.

CLIPSTER(r), the DVS flagship, once again demonstrates its role as the core of a DI workflow. With its new conforming tool the DI workstation supports all conforming steps in a DI project. Besides the simple insertion of multiple EDLs into the timeline, the tool also offers features for browsing, organizing and modifying high-resolution data. CLIPSTER(r) supports all stages of DCI mastering, ranging from the DSM (Digital Source Master) to the DCP (Digital Cinema Package). Its large feature range makes it an ideal, convenient system for performing post production steps according to DCI specifications.

In the storage area DVS presents a SpycerBox cluster solution in addition to its renowned DVS-SAN storage system. Based on the new SpycerLink technology, clustering facilitates the building of powerful, scalable networks with the SpycerBox. This location-independent storage solution provides its users with maximum flexibility and data security.

For the first time, DVS presents its own management tool for the DVS-SAN: a management platform that offers a complete overview of the entire DVS-SAN environment and its clients. It comes with monitoring and reporting features to inform users about the configuration, size, and workload of the DVS-SAN. The management tool also offers effective detection and proactive prevention of possible malfunctions.

With version 1.3 of DVS's Spycer(r) data manager, Spycer's easy-to-use browsing and editing features for image data and metadata, as well as its high-speed copying and defragmenting features in a distributed network, are becoming available to Mac OS(r) users, too. New features like the job scheduler or the optimized preview section ensure convenient and effective data management on Mac OS(r), Windows(r), and Linux(r) operating systems.

Pronto3 is the name of the new disk recorder generation by DVS. This digital disk recorder effortlessly handles compressed and uncompressed HD and 2K data material and offers numerous functions that go a long way beyond the simple capturing and play-out of film and video data. Various options allow interfaces, color depth, and image formats to be adapted accurately to the working environment.

Peter Spoer, DVS CEO: "At our booth, visitors to the NAB will discover solutions that effectively optimize workflows in film and video processing. Our new products and features offer our customers future-proof workflows. We are looking forward to presenting the versatile and innovative applications of our products to the visitors at our booth."
