DVS presents new features for Spycer including support for RED files and MXF data (7/4/2009)

At NAB booth SL6920, DVS will present new features of its Spycer® content management software. Conversion of RED files and support for the MXF data typically used in broadcast environments streamline workflows through the organization of numerous clips.

DVS will unveil a new Spycer® software feature set at NAB booth SL6920. Users in post production, broadcast and the presentation industries will benefit from extended content management features that support essential file formats.

Film data generated with the RED camera can be processed at high-speed thanks to the RED file preview and conversion functions of Spycer®. Spycer® also supports the new CLIPSTER® Conforming Tool, enabling users to search across the entire heterogeneous SpycerNet to locate high-resolution material for autoconforming.

Thanks to its open system design, Spycer® can be integrated well into all common IT infrastructures for file-based workflows. Spycer® now offers viewing of MXF variants without any further conversion for codecs, like Avid DNxHD®, that are typically used in broadcast environments. This converter also supports essential MXF variants.

Konstantin Schinas, DVS Product Manager: “We’re looking forward to demonstrating Spycer‘s support for RED files and extended MXF features at this year’s NAB. Spycer‘s new feature set perfectly complements not just digital film post production workflows but file-based, broadcast workflows as well.”
