News EVS Announces Integration of its XS Servers with Matrox Axio Systems for SD/HD Real-time Editing on Adobe Premiere Pro (27/4/2009) The multi-channel EVS XT[2] and XS production servers combined with Matrox Axio lets users capture SD or HD content inside Matrox AVI files for editing in real-time with Adobe Premiere Pro. Due to the servers' native support of Matrox MPEG-2 AVI files, the access to the servers for Matrox Axio users is simplified. There are two ways to link the EVS XT[2] / XS servers with Axio real-time editing stations. Media can be sent through an EVS XFile gateway system, either via clip transfer or media streaming. The second method is by going through XTAccess, the gigabit Ethernet network, connected directly to the XT[2] server. Pierre-Martin Dion, Product Manager of Matrox said: "The combination of the multi-channel EVS XT[2] server with the Matrox Axio real-time editing system running Adobe CS4 Production Premium provides a very clever and productive end-to-end workflow solution for broadcasters as well as post-production facilities. Because of this compatibility we are proud to work with EVS." Since the XT[2] natively supports Matrox MPEG-2 AVI files, clipped files can be directly transferred to the Matrox Axio real-time production environment at high speed, and without the need for additional encoding or decoding. EVS XFile streaming modules also allow users to instantly stream EVS XT[2] content to any Axio station linked to the network while recording is still in progress. The reverse process allows material that has been edited with Axio to be retrieved by the EVS XT[2] server for immediate playout. These files can be played out even while the media is being transfered. Serge Comes, Product Manager at EVS said: "Thanks to the successful integration, we are now offering extremely reliable and efficient solutions. As an example the Adobe Premiere Pro editor can stream in real-time content from the EVS server to create on-the-fly highlight edits."
